On 11 and 12 May 2023, the first pilot workshop Richer than a millionaire took place in Groningen thanks to Buro Mix. With women who get stuck in prostitution and employees of Het Overweeghuis, we looked at poverty and wealth in a new way. Together we designed emotional capital, which resulted in narrative vouchers and symbols. Chantal concluded: ‘I draw and I think’. Participating in the 2-day workshop had touched her on a deeper level. Barbara wrote in Bulgarian: ‘Freedom makes power, not money!’ Volunteer Roza literally drew Het Overweeghuis as her emotional wealth. For the past five months, she has been a point of contact for the residents from the team. This educational experience gave her added value to life.
